History of Queen Cards

1. Pallas Athena (Queen of Spades)

In Greek mythology, Athena is believed to have been born from the forehead of her father, Zeus. In Greek history, Athena is also known as the goddess of war.


2. Judith (Queen of Hearts)

Judith is credited in the Hebrew Bible as the goddess who saved Jerusalem from total destruction.


3. Rachel (Queen of Diamonds)

According to the Hebrew Scriptures, Rachel was the mother of Benjamin and the famous Joseph. She is known as a goddess because she led the Jews out of Egypt.


4. Argea (Queen of Clubs)

Argea is a queen in Latin. In ancient Greek stories, Argo is also a mythical mother woman who built the ship.
